The sixth season of Dexter,
while not quite up to par with its heyday, was definitely a step up
from the previous fifth season—complete with a pretty colossal finale.
Even more of a winner than Dexter in 2011 was Showtime’s newest drama, Homeland, which stars Claire Danes
as a mentally unbalanced federal agent striving to prove that a rescued
American POW has been brainwashed and is working for a terrorist
organization. Both are high-stakes, compelling programs that definitely
leave a hefty void between seasons—but now, at least we know when
they’ll return: September 30.
Dexter will return to Showtime with its seventh season (its second to last, according to the showrunner’s endgame plan) on Sept. 30. Along with Dexter’s season premiere, Homeland
will return to the network for a second—and highly anticipated—season.
This gives plenty of time for those not caught up on either show to finally get in the game (seriously, what have you been waiting for?) on two of television's best dramas.
